There are (3) main valleys in Chitral District in northern Pakistan on an average elevation of 1,500 m (4,921 ft). Bumburet , Rumbur and Birir , the largest and most populous valley is Bumburet, and can be reached by a road from Kunar Valley These valleys are surrounded by “the Hindu Kush Mountain range”. The people of Kalash Valley are the smallest religious as well as the ethnic minority of Pakistan. The Kalashi’s has a Polytheist faith based upon a culturally interlinked religion which termed several festivals and celebrations. They celebrates the “Choimus Festival” where they worship many gods of Kafiristan like Balomain, the heroic demi-god of the Kalasha and it is stated that his (Balomain’s) spirit pass through the valley by counting the people of the Kalash and collecting their prayers and returning them a “Tsiam”, Non-Muslims foreigners are usually allowed to participate, but you must buy your own goat for the sacrifice!.
